Working with clients to realize their dreams and enhance their surroundings by designing environments and living spaces that create a balance between lifestyle and nature, a blend of internal and external space.
Whether we are designing a small-scale commercial building, a large custom home, a modern building or a traditional-style residence, there are 3 concepts we execute in every project. We describe these ideas as Hearth, Harmony and Habitat.
We express the idea of the Hearth by creating a nucleus within the building from which all functions radiate. People are social and naturally tend to gather. Our aim is to create buildings that facilitate that connection by providing functional and comfortable spaces.
The idea of Harmony is way for us to integrate indoor/outdoor living. We believe the outdoor spaces are as important as the indoor spaces because people are healthier and happier when connected to their natural environment. Our objective with every project is to take advantage of a view, natural light, ventilation and site-specific features. We integrate these features within the architecture to enhance the connection with the outdoor environment.
The idea of Habitat is the way we explore materials to express a specific environment. The materials and finishes in a home often drive how a home feels. Our goal with every project is to select materials that create the perfect atmosphere for your needs and wants.
When we have been very thoughtful about the ideas of hearth, harmony and habitat the result is a project that is not only timeless but simply makes you feel good. The kind of place you enter, take a deep breath, and immediately feel comfortable.
At James Glover Residential & Interior Design each project is approached with an open, creative mind, as every client’s needs and vision are unique. We strive to listen and understand our client’s needs. Our style is to work with our clients in a collaborative way as every client brings a valuable knowledge base. Our goal with every project is to first identify the specific needs of our client and then to create environments that enhance connection, create balance, and inspire. We illustrate these concepts using the latest 3D BIM software. 3D modeling allows our clients to clearly visualize their project throughout the design process.
James has a true passion for design and this enthusiasm and commitment began in early childhood. By the time James was 18, his family had moved 22 times because his father developed custom homes. This afforded James the opportunity not only to experience different living environments, but also to work construction for his father. Besides being a great man, his father taught James all elements of construction, from planning and design to construction and finish work. This early exposure inspired James to start working in the field, preparing design and construction documents for local architects. James soon obtained his General Contractor licenses and began working on his own. James takes great pride in the path he chose and continues to be inspired by art, fashion, music, culture, food and most of all, architecture and interior design. James is continually grateful to his peers for the knowledge and experiences they imparted to him.
